8. There Are A Few Lucky Couples That Have Actually Stayed Together
Speaking of still together, Sean and Catherine Lowe aren’t the only couples who are still together. Sometimes things work out for our favorite bachelors and bachelorettes. Although it seems unlikely that two people who meet on a reality television show could make a life togther, it actually does happen.
In fact, original Bachelorette Trista Sutter has been married to her contestant for almost 15 years. She and hunky fireman husband, Ryan, were the very first couple to get married, and stay married, as a result of the show. And their relationship is the longest to date.
Trista says the secret to being able to stay together is to, “It’s just like your job,” Sutter said. “You have to put in the time and effort and energy that you do into everything else in your life. And I feel like [Ryan and I] do that. We’ve had our bumps in the road, just like anyone else, but it’s really about staying focused on each other and dedicating time to each other.”
Ashely Hebert and JP Rosenbaum from season 7 of The Bachelorette were married in December 2012 in televised ceremony. Since then, they’ve had two children together, and they’re still going strong.
Recent bachelorette, Kaitlyn Bristowe, is going strong with her guy, Shawn Boothe. They are tentatively engaged, but we haven’t heard much about a wedding. She recently clapped back to fans on Twitter who are hounding her about when she and Shawn would make it official. She tweeted: “If you guys want me to get married and have babies you’re gonna have to be ok with ad’s. Shits expensive. Do we have a deal?”
