50 secrets only true Bachelor fanatics know

10. Over 16 Countries Have A Version Of The Bachelor and The Bachelorette
The Bachelor has been around for close to 20 years, and The Bachelorette almost just as long. Since then we’ve been blessed with Bachelor Pad and Bachelor In Paradise as spin-offs. These shows pull from the same casting pool as the originals, so we’re basically just catching up with the same characters over and over.
Most recently, ABC has tried their hand at creating spin-offs featuring couples as they “journey” toward their marriage. Ben Higgins and Lauren Bushnell had their own show on the ABC affliate, Freeform, but it failed to capture audiences’ attention. Rumors are swirling that Ben’s season’s twins, Haley and Emily will get their own show as well.
The Bachelor franchise is not only an American phenomenon. There are over 17 other countries that have their version of the dating show, and some look a lot like the original. Germany, Switzerland, New Zealand, Slovenia, Romania, Israel, Brasil, Norway, Australia, Poland, France, Ukraine, Russia, Canada, Finland, the UK, Romania, and India all have versions of both The Bachelor and The Bachelorette.
It seems like the love we have for watching young, pretty, white people “find love” is a universal desire. No matter what language we hear, “I’m not here to make friends,” it seems we can connect to it. Next time you’re traveling abroad, check out one of these spin-offs to see if you can identify all the things we know and love about our favorite show about love.
