50 secrets only true Bachelor fanatics know

17. Outdoor Picnics Automatically Set A Romantic Scene
There are only a finite amount of romantic configurations, but producers have to maximize the time couples spend with each other. In order to squeeze every last ounce of romance from every date, the show arranges dates that will encourage intimacy and foster long, deep conversations.
All those outdoor picnics are the perfect solution for this. Most often, the locations are overlooking a scenic view in a remote location, and the two are all alone to dish on their innermost secrets. Alone except for the dozens of crews and cameramen. It’s hard not to be affected by the beautiful scenes of nature, and producers count on couples getting caught up in the moment, letting their guard down, and making progress in their relationship.
Sean Lowe confirms the locations are contrived to bring couples closer together. He writes in his book, “they give couples a picturesque moment to chat.” He’s not wrong. Think back to every single season of The Bachelor, and you can bet there’s been a handful of those breezy picnics.
Every season has it’s fair share of outdoor meals. Some offer intricate sets with gauzy, billowy sheers and hundreds of candles, while others are just the couple with a basket and a bottle of wine. No matter how elaborate they are, they are the perfect opportunity to get to know each other away from the prying eyes and listening ears of the other contestants.
