25. The Contestants Have To Share Tight Quarters And Only A Few Bathrooms
The mansion is absolutely huge, but the residents are packed into only a few bedrooms and are forced to share bathrooms. Oh the horror.
Can you even fathom how hectic it must get in those first few episodes when there are more than 25 women trying to get ready? The women are probably forced into such tight quarters to facilitate contempt and tension. I know I would get very weary having to live on top of dozens of other women all the time.
People magazine ran a twenty year anniversary special on the long running show. The magazine reports, “things can get cramped. The girls sleep in bunk beds and share just two bathrooms between all of them.” This means that the women are forced to share space almost from day one. They must negotiate personal space and deal with others’ sleep habits and morning routines. If someone snores or wakes up extremely early, it instantly becomes everyone’s problem. It’s a lot like living in a dorm – or a prison ward.
This seems like a logistical nightmare, with all the beauty products, hair tools, and closet space. With only two bedrooms and several women to each bedroom, things could easily turn into chaos. On the other hand, having so many women in one space could really come in handy when you’re trying to try something new with your hair or makeup, or when you’ve run out clothes to wear.
