Bachelor Nick Viall has an emotional breakdown
By Phil Newman
This season of The Bachelor has been filled with catty girl-drama and romance, but this week Nick turned off the charm and cranked up the drama.
The only romantic interaction this week was a one-on-one date with Kristina, and even so, Nick didn’t seem to be his usual flirty-self.
During the group date all the girls were mad they weren’t getting enough time with Nick. And all of them cried at least one time during the date.
The group date drama was only the beginning of a bad week for Nick. With a two-on-one date coming up, things were about to get a whole lot worse.
Whitney and Danielle L. were the two whisked away in a helicopter and taken to a private island to spend time with Nick. Knowing one of them were getting sent home, tensions were high.
Soon after the date began, Nick sent Danielle L. home.
After Danielle was gone, Nick and Whitney sat down for a romantic meal together. This is when Whitney decided to confess her love for him. Nick was clearly uncomfortable and couldn’t even look at her.
After a few moments of awkward silence, Nick told her that he didn’t feel the same way. If to add insult to injury, Nick swiftly told her that it would be best if she left. And now Whitney was gone too.
Sending another girl home seemed to leave him as confused as ever.
Having appeared on two seasons of The Bachelorette, and one season of Bachelor in Paradise, none of which allowed Nick to meet ‘the one,’ it seems obvious why his is discouraged.
After sending Whitney home, Nick lost it. He was emotional, crying, and questioning if this process is going to work for him or just leave him heartbroken (again).
In his emotional state he went to the hotel room where the rest of the girls were staying and told them through teary eyes that he doesn’t know if he can do it anymore.
Without much more of an explanation, Nick left, leaving everyone confused.
