The Bachelor Season 21: Who’s the real ‘swamp monster’?
Tensions mount during the two-on-one date in the swamp, Corinne and Taylor pull out all the stops in order to win Nick’s rose.
Monday’s episode of The Bachelor began with a fight between Taylor and Corinne, which continued throughout the episode. When it was revealed that there was a two-on-one date, this seemed like the perfect opportunity to put Corinne and Taylor together.
Just when it seemed tensions between the two were at their peak, Corinne and Taylor were the ones picked to go on the date. During this type of date, one of the girls will get a rose, and the other one will be sent home.
In the aptly located date, the two are taken into the swamp with Nick. With already high tensions, Corinne calls Taylor ‘a big mean swamp monster.’ But who is really the swamp monster?
Of course there are arguments for both of them, as they both have fans rooting for their win and the demise of the other.
In episode 5, Taylor told Corinne that she doesn’t have the level emotional intelligence she thinks it takes to be a wife (keep in mind, Corinne is a 24-year-old with a nanny). Corinne took this out of context and told Nick that Taylor had called her stupid.
Using her alone time with Nick during the two-on-one, Corinne gave Nick a sob-story, telling him that she was ’emotionally attacked’ by Taylor. Her argument was very compelling, and even made Nick believe that Corinne was the ‘mature’ one.
Corinne may seem like someone who is emotionally unintelligent, but she really played Nick. Taylor was out of line to say what she said, but then again, it wasn’t unjustified.
Corinne has continually showed an immature side to her whenever she doesn’t get the attention she’s looking for.
During Taylor’s alone time with Nick, he confronts her about the accusations that Corinne made about her. Although we don’t get to see the discussion, the outcome is apparent when Nick choses which girl he is sending home.
Spoiler alert! When Nick ultimately decides to send Taylor home, this really shows that Corinne is a lot more intelligent than she’s given credit for.
In the end the real swamp monster gets to stay, while Taylor is sent home.
